In July, 2002, Dr. Adams and Shanahan, medical director of the CHART Project, formed "The Pediatrics Logician Users Group." The groups meets monthly and each CHART health center sends a pediatric clinican and data analyst to each meeting (attendance has been over 75%). To date, the group has focused on standardization of immunization data, development of astham templates, and other routine health care template enhancements. Drs. Adams and Shanahan will continue to work closely with the BMC and CHC teams.
Current PLUG Activities include:
- Agreement on common immunization standards, forms, and letters
- Redesign of pediatric primary care templates for routine health care maintenance an asthma care
- Introduction of new form set
- Improved capacity for multi-problem visits
- Comprehensive preventive service and asthma data
- Improved navigation and informational printing
- Commitment to using new forms for improvement of care
